Games

Melbourne Water has created a range of educational games that are interactive and fun. The aim of these games is to raise awareness of environmental issues.

New Floods Explorer Interactive

Melbourne is subject to storms, which can cause severe localised flash flooding. Via Melbourne Water’s animated Floods Explorer, students and the community can explore what happens when it rains in urban areas, how houses and parks are affected, and the consequences of blocked gutters and stormwater pollution. Discover the inside story of how councils, the Bureau of Meteorology, the SES and Melbourne Water work together on planning and responding to floods.

Waterwise Wizard

Our Water is a precious resource. We need to look after it now for the future.
One way you can help is by being Waterwise around the house.
Let the Waterwise Wizard help you discover how to save water around your home.

Home Water Investigator

The Home Water Investigator allows students to build their own virtual home and calculate their family's water usage. Developed by the Melbourne Water and Curriculum Corporation, in partnership with EPA Victoria, this excellent multimedia education tool is a unique way to help students understand how water is used in their home and what happens to the water after it leaves their home.

Waterworks Adventure

Get under the skin of the water supply, stormwater and sewerage systems of a big city.

The Waterworks Adventure is a set of activities designed to assist students in understanding the value and management of water as an urban resource. The activities help students to appreciate the impact that the urban water cycle may have on people's health and the natural environment. Students are asked to use their findings to design a complete urban water system. A detailed report and evaluation of each students design can be generated at the end of the Adventure.
